Mermaid's Breakfast

OK, here's my finished piece for the...
“ California Screamin’ Downunder 2”
Art Competition and Exhibition
Sunday April 3rd to April 17th
Kustom Lane Gallery
8 Luton Lane, Hawthorn 3122

It has taken me about 2 weeks of solid work to get it to this stage. I had the idea early in the year. Painted using many layers of water color and inks for the linework. I'd done a number of preliminary sketches and color treatments prior to get it right.

Birthday Invitation

This is a Birthday Party Invitation at a winery I did for my Mother In-Law. The drawing was done in my sketch book then scaned and colored in the computer. I'm quite happy with the final product.

And heres a close up of the portrait.

Sphinx: Char Design

This is a character design I have done for one of my projects I am working on. Thought I'd put together a transition of the stages for something a bit different.

Animation Test

Animation & Background Test from Mark Sheard
This is some animation tests I did for my short film I am developing at the moment. It felt good to do some traditional animation again, albeit drawing straight into the computer with an old wacom.

Flower of Rhode: Character Designs

Here are some of the character designs I have been working on for my next short film. It's only at the development stage at the moment though. So stay tuned for more as it comes.

Here are a couple of expression tests I did. I always like to do these. It helps you get into the character more and flesh it out a bit more.

...and another design of a pack mule of sorts. I have some animation test which I'll put up on my next post. Till then.

Board & Horney

These are some pieces I did for Blue Tile Lounge's "Rolling Through the 60's" skateboard art exhibition. It was my first time painting on a skateboard. And shoes for that matter.
